The Sonoma Valley Firefighters Association will be holding its annual Open House and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sonoma Valley Fire Station 1.

The open house has been a tradition that Sonoma has had for many years. Families are invited to come participate in this educational and entertaining day of events. There will be firefighting demonstrations, fire engine rides and safety training and  information.

For the kids, it’s an opportunity to show off their Halloween costume. Children 12 years and younger can participate in a costume contest at 11 a.m., and everyone who participates will receive a prize.

Uniformed fire department personnel and their families will be present to answer questions, give tours of the station and apparatus.

The cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for kids ages 5 to 12, and free for those 4 and under. All proceeds from the day will go toward purchasing and upgrading life saving and fire suppression equipment.

The station is located at 630 Second St. W. For further information, call 996-2102.
