Editor, Index-Tribune:

I read the voter pamphlet for the Nov. 19 election, and I am not understanding one thing.

In the rebuttal to Argument in Favor of Measure B, it states Measure B “could incentivize the development of several 24 room hotels in areas next-door to our homes and schools, rather than in commercial zones.”

I thought the planning and approval process was in place to prevent such developments.

The rebuttal is signed by the mayor and the mayor pro tem. Aren’t these folks the ones we elected to be sure that what their argument implies does not occur? Or is this a scare tactic? I don’t get it.
