The Kenwood Plaza will be filled with music, barbecue and memories this Sunday, Oct. 20. The Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation will host the event from 2 to 6 p.m. to benefit the construction of the Plaza’s new gazebo.

The afternoon will feature jazz and blues by Jami Jamison and the Moonlight Riders, the Kenwood Jazz Ensemble, John Burdick with Laura Benward and the Rett Hamer Blues Band.

Barbecue donated by local restaurants will be served from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and will include ribs and chicken, as well as side dishes and desserts. Wine and beer will be available for purchase.

Advance tickets are $30 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Tickets are available at, as well as at the Kenwood Press, Vineyards Inn or Swede’s Feeds. Ticket prices will increase to $35 at the door. The afternoon also will feature an extensive silent auction.

The event raises funds to complete the construction of the new Kenwood Plaza gazebo, which is being built in memory of Bobby Musser-Kirby. Bobby was just 5-years-old when a tree fell on his family’s vehicle on Bennett Valley Road, killing the child. The new structure will be accompanied by a memorial garden to honor Candace Heim-Serrano and Glory Whitehead, two long beloved Kenwood community leaders.

The Kenwood Plaza is located at 200 Warm Springs Road. In the case of rain, the party will move to the Kenwood Fire Station, 9045 Sonoma Highway, in Kenwood.

The Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation raises funds, fosters partnerships and advocates on behalf of Sonoma County Regional Parks.
