With the recent release of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule for 2014, Sonoma Raceway will be hosting for the 26th consecutive year, the Toyota/Save Mart 350 weekend, which will take place Friday through Sunday, June 20 to 22.

This past June, Martin Truex Jr. took the checkers for his first-ever win in Sonoma, and his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series road-course victory. Truex Jr. also became the seventh consecutive driver to win his first Cup Series road-course race in Sonoma.

Also returning to drive the Valley’s famed 1.99-mile road course will be former winners Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart, while stars like Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brad Keselowski look for their first Sonoma wins.

Race fans interested in getting an early start can renew their Toyota/Save Mart 350 tickets or sign-up for priority pre-sale by calling 800-870-RACE (7223).

Sonoma Raceway’s popular Wednesday Night Drags program continues every Wednesday evening through Nov. 13, and includes the motorsport of drifting.

The Wednesday Night Drags are open to anyone with a driver’s license, who can race any vehicle or motorcycle they bring to the world-famous quarter-mile drag strip, provided it passes a simple tech inspection.

Gates open for “Drag and Drift” at 3:30, time runs begin at 4, and the racing takes place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. – drifting from 4 to 10 p.m. – with the Wednesday Night Drags cost being $25 for competitors, $15 for students with a high school ID and $10 for spectators. The drifting costs are $40 with pre-registration and $50 at the gate.
