Lady Dragons nipped by Analy in tennis, fall to Petaluma in golf, netters host today, honor seniors

In their Sonoma County League regular-season finale last Thursday, Sonoma Valley High School’s golfing girls played on the road and dropped a 272-318 decision to rival Petaluma at the Rooster Run Golf Course.

Pacing the Lady Dragons were senior Jacquie Peterson’s nine-hole round of 54, sophomores Callie Hogan’s and Kaylin Riebli’s 63 each, sophomore Lucy Houghton’s 66, and sophomore Anna De Smet’s 72.

Sonoma’s young girl golfers, directed by longtime coach Tom Hickerson, competed in the SCL championship tournament yesterday, with results not available at presstime.

The tennis Lady Dragons traveled to Sebastopol last Thursday for an SCL second-place showdown with Analy – Petaluma has already laid claim to the league title – and, as was the case in the first match between the longtime rivals, they were dealt a heartbreaking 4-3 loss.
