Pop-up trade show at Epicurean Connection

On April 4, 5 and 6, for the second time within a year, the Epicurean Connection, 122 W. Napa St., and Elise Sahota, owner of Blue Ullu, will be hosting a fair trade pop-up show.

Blue Ullu works with 20 women in a small Himalayan community in India, creating vegetable-dyed, pure wool children’s clothing: each piece is knit or crocheted by hand.

Blue Ullu artisans are able to work from home and support their families with their fair-trade wages and flexible schedules.

“After such a great success at our first pop up show in November 2013 at the Epicurean Connection, we decided to do it again. This show will feature beautiful dresses, shirts and jumpers for infant and toddler girls that would be great for Easter or a beautiful picnic day in spring or summer,” said Sahota.

Along with clothing, customers can gaze at stunning photography by James Fanucchi, Rahul Lal and Rohit Lal of daily Indian scenarios and stunning landscapes of the Himalayas. Visitors to the Epicurean Connection event can also purchase Shauna Davis’ renowned artisan cheese, locally grown food products, beer and wine.

The pop-up show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 4, Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6.
