Valley food programs are available online

A newly researched directory of food programs in the Sonoma Valley is now available online at the Sonoma Methodist Church website, sonomaumc.com and click on “Food Aid: Resources in the Sonoma Valley.”

The directory lists 12 organizations that operate programs in the Sonoma Valley, which provide food to persons in need and in some cases financial assistance for rent or utilities. A profile for each organization listed includes contact information, its mission, its service area, a brief narrative on services offered and, when available, utilization data.

Several other organizations that offer services throughout Sonoma County are mentioned at the end of the directory. For example, anyone can call “211” or visit its website at 211wc.org and obtain current information on food, housing and other services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
