Classic sports racing, Home Run Derby, youth football/cheer/tennis, bocci, Babe Ruth, Hall of Fame

SONOMA RACEWAY WILL host the Classic Sports Racing Group’s 47th season opener, the David Love Memorial Vintage Races, on Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6, with approximately 200 vintage and historic race cars taking over the road course. Sonoma Raceway’s 2014 Big O Tires major events season includes NASCAR, NHRA, IndyCar Series, FIA World Touring and Historic Cars, and tickets and ticket packages are available, including the all-encompassing Track Pass, and the Buy-Early-and-Save options for all four of the major-event weekends. SONOMA VALLEY HIGH School’s Dan Deely and Vinny Albano have combined their senior project efforts into producing the popular Home Run Derby taking place on Saturday, April 19, at Arnold Field, with the money raised going toward improvements and restoration of Arnold Field, and for the Dragons’ baseball program. The senior project Home Run Derby is for ages 6-to-12-years-old attempting to homer from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; ages 13-to-17 from 3 to 5 p.m.; and ages 18-and-over from 5 to 8 p.m., with costs being $5 for eight swings and $10 for 10 swings.
