Parks to unveil structures report

California State Parks will host a presentation on Wednesday, March 19, to share highlights of the recently completed Historic Structures Report (HSR) for the Toscano Hotel complex and Servants’ Quarters of Sonoma State Historic Park.

The two-hour presentation of the HSR will start at 10 a.m. and will be held in the park at the Sonoma Barracks, 36 Spain St., Sonoma.

Historic Structures Reports are important documents for park managers; they help to inform decision-making on matters related to building maintenance, preservation and use. The presentation will cover technical findings related to several of the park’s downtown historic buildings located on Spain Street, across from the city’s Plaza.

The report was undertaken as an important research element needed for the development of the park’s Facilities Management Plan (FMP) which will be completed this year. Garavaglia Architecture, Inc., of San Francisco produced the HSR under the direction of California State Parks. The public was invited to provide input for the FMP last June. The report and plan are Proposition 84 bond-funded projects.

For a copy of the report, contact Supervising Ranger Vince Anibale at vince.anibale@parks.ca.gov, or 938-9553. California State Parks supports equal access. Prior to arrival, visitors with disabilities who need assistance should contact Anibale.
