Hanna Hawks fall in NCS semifinal

The best-ever season in Archbishop Hanna High School’s basketball history came to an end Wednesday night in Fremont.

After winning the Bridge School League regular-season and playoff titles, and capturing back-to-back postseason North Coast Section Division-6 opening-round and quarterfinal victories, the fourth-seeded Hanna Hawks dropped a high-scoring 75-62 semifinal decision to top-seeded California School for the Deaf.

With the NCS Division-6 loss, the Hanna hoops boys end their season with a school-best 24-4 record.

The league-champion and NCS Division-6 semifinalist Archbishop Hanna boys, coached by Courtney Jackson, consisted of seniors Joe Bhai, Victor Hughes, Darius Johnson, Jesse Limon, Javarri McClay, Dage Rivergo and Russell Wood; juniors Armani Perry, Taray Cannon and Larry Michel; sophomores Fernando Marquez, Jesus Tremillo and Dakota Woltering; and freshman Alfredo Pulido.
