Girl to cop: ‘Go ahead and arrest me’

A 16-year-old, female student at the Creekside continuation high school decided the bong in her backpack was more important than a police command, and ended up in juvenile hall.

The confrontation began when a police officer was summoned to the school after two girls who were supposed to be in home room, insisted on going outside to retrieve a backpack from someone’s car. When they did so, a school administrator immediately smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the pack. When he demanded the backpack, the 16-year-old refused, saying it was “Because I have something on me.”

The officer arrived, made the same request, and the girl again refused to surrender the backpack, defiantly stating, “Go ahead and arrest me. I have a hella-nice, expensive-assed bong my dad gave to me, and I don’t want you to take it from me.”

The officer persisted, took control of the prized pack and the girl lunged at him to take it back. The effort was, of course, futile, the officer removed a large glass bong from inside, and the cantankerous teen was charged with resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was escorted to juvenile hall.
