Warren Archibald Nadeau

Warren Archibald Nadeau passed peacefully at his Bainbridge Island, Wash., home on Feb. 12, 2014.

Born to Elva Isabelle and Commander Louis Irving Nadeau of Bainbridge Island, Wash., he spent his youth on the Island, in Falls Church, Va., and in Sonoma. After receiving his bachelor of science degree, he worked at Mare Island Shipyard on nuclear reactors. Later he was appointed director of the Curriculum and Instructional Standards Office at the Trident Training Facility at Kitsap/Bangor where he eventually retired.

Throughout his life, he was an avid aviator, carpenter/home builder, boater, and marksman. He loved studying current events and history, writing editorials, cooking, traveling, painting and spending time with friends and family.

He leaves behind his wife Shirl Nadeau née Olmsted; children, Katherine (Ron) Helm, Kimberly Nadeau, and Thomas Nadeau; four grandchildren; four stepchildren; six step-grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Frieda) and James (Phyllis) Nadeau; five nieces; four nephews; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by brother, Gerald R. Nadeau; sister, Jean J. Ness and three nephews.

We thank the many individuals who cared for him during his illness.
