Woodland Star offers slate of enrollment events

Woodland Star Charter School, Sonoma’s Waldorf-inspired K-8 public school, is offering a series of ways for prospective families to learn more about the school’s educational philosophy.

At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, the school will offer a Kindergarten Open House and Classroom Tour. Prospective families are invited to learn more about the school’s play-based, half-day kinder program as well as the upper grades curriculum.

From 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, and Tuesday, Feb. 11, the school is offering “Walk Through the Grades” school tours. Woodland Star’s administration will provide a brief overview of the curriculum and community before taking parents on a tour of the classrooms. RSVPs are greatly appreciated and tours are intended for adults only. “Touring the classrooms is a dynamic experience,” said Woodland Star parent Brooke Sevenau. “I was able to see children learning in an engaged and thoughtful way – truly understanding complex concepts in ways that brought the delight and wonder of learning to life.”

Interested families and community members are invited to participate in any of the events to learn more about the Waldorf-inspired curriculum at Woodland Star Charter School.

“Important information about the 2014-15 school year will be presented,” said school administrator Sheila Reilly. “Most importantly, these community events provide an opportunity to view Waldorf-inspired curriculum in action.”
