Dragon cagers, wrestlers in tourneys

Determined to snap a four-game nonleague road losing streak after winning four of six games to start the preseason, Sonoma Valley High School’s varsity basketball girls will have to do it far from home, actually, in another state.

Currently on their annual holiday trek to Arizona, the Lady Dragons are competing in the Cactus Jam in Tempe that starts today and runs through Monday, Dec. 30.

Sonoma’s girl cagers will then return home to open their Sonoma County League season on Wednesday, Jan. 8, when they host longtime SCL rival Petaluma in Pfeiffer Gym with freshmen starting at 4:30, junior varsity playing at 6, and the varsity tipping off at 7:30 p.m.

The Lady Dragons remain home to host SCL foe El Molino on Friday, Jan. 10, at the above same starting times.
