Cornerstone hosts nature festival on Sunday

The Nature and Optic Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Cornerstone Sonoma, 23570 Arnold Drive.

Organizations representing major binocular and spotting scope companies, artists, hikers, parks and wildlife refuges, coastal redwoods, California condors, coyotes, owls, hawks, bats, beavers, badgers, frogs, songbirds, snakes, spiders, Snow Leopards, mountain lions as well as tropical birding will once again gather for the event.

The festival sponsored by Sonoma Birding and is a free and family-friendly event for the public. There will be live music, ambassador birds from area rescue centers and access to 17 award-winning gardens.

Tom Rusert, co-founder of the event, said “It’s for anyone who cherishes the outdoors and desires to learn more about our natural world. Outdoor enthusiasts involved with photography, birding, biking, hiking kayaking and gardening will really enjoy this festival. Many leading experts will be on hand.”

Leading Northern California nature artists, photographers and authors will be displaying their works.
