Last chance for Sonoma Valley Muse tickets, honoring Chuck Williams

The Sonoma Community Center will honor American icon, the founder of Williams-Sonoma, Chuck Williams, as its 2013 Sonoma Valley Muse. Credited with changing the American kitchen, in his career, he has won nearly every culinary award imaginable.

A celebratory dinner will be held at Ramekins Culinary School on Friday, Oct. 11, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Williams, known as “Chuck” to the world, has built an empire from his love of cooking and made Williams-Sonoma a household name. Williams-Sonoma started on Broadway in this small town almost 70 years ago – a town that captured his attention and his heart.

According to Sonoma Community Center Executive Director Toni Castrone, “As we celebrate the founder of Williams-Sonoma, we remind ourselves that his accomplishments grew from his passion for cooking. Sonoma Community Center’s education programs stoke the creative passion that is in us all. This event will bring funds to provide these sorts of programs to the residents of Sonoma Valley.”

This marks the ninth annual Sonoma Valley Muse celebration, an homage to the people who have inspired the community and left an indelible cultural mark on the local culture. Previous muse selections have included Agoston Harazthy, M.F.K. Fisher, Robert M. Lynch, Jack London and James Zellerbach.
