The Sonoma Valley Library welcomes Naka Zuiso of Osaka, Japan, and Tomiko Yabumoto of Sonoma to share the art of Shodo, a type of calligraphy, from Wednesday, Oct. 30 to Saturday, Nov. 2.

An exhibition of Naka Sensei’s work, along with some of her long-time student, Tomiko Yabumoto’s pieces, will be on display in the library’s forum room during those dates.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m., Naka will present a calligraphy performance, which is much like a dance performance. The artist draws the characters with large brushes and incorporates her entire body.

This performance is free and open to the public.
