Judy Bell, 67, passed away on Aug. 15, 2013, peacefully at her home in Sonoma, surrounded by her family and friends. She was known as Juju, a name given to her by her granddaughter Renee. Juju will be greatly missed and thought of daily by those that love her.
Judy was born on Sept. 28, 1945, in Clearlake, to Ellis Raymond and Georgene Rhoades. She moved to Sonoma in 1972 to raise her family with their father, Lynn Bell.
She graduated from Ursuline High School, Sonoma State University and then obtained her master’s degree from the Professional School of Psychology in San Francisco. She had a long career as a social worker, always helping others before herself. She worked at the Sonoma County Children’s Home, Catholic Charities and other agencies until her retirement.
Judy leaves behind a devoted family and cherished friends who provided her with great happiness in her life. Her happiest moments were spent with family and friends and she always looked forward to holidays (Easter was her favorite) when everyone could be together. She loved to read, go to the movies, attend her grandchildren’s events and a glass of red wine.
