The annual fundraiser for the Sonoma Valley High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) and agriculture program will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at Larson Family Winery starting at 5 p.m.
This year’s theme is “From Classroom to Farm to Table” and there will be barbecue, chili, salad, polenta and more with live music from the Rich Little Band. There will also be silent and live auctions with local favorite Ed Vaughn as the auctioneer. The agriculture (ag) program has pathways in animal science, plant and soil science, ag mechanics, ag business, agriscience, as well as forestry and natural resources.
The program serves approximately 400 students and currently has three teachers. All the proceeds go to support the growing agriculture program at the high school. For tickets and more info, call Becky Larson at 938-3031, ext. 24.
The annual harvest party at Gundlach Bundschu Winery called “Shake your Bundschu” will have a Las Vegas theme and dancing will be from the Cheeseballs. It’s said what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but this Saturday, Sept. 14, what happens at Bundschu, stays at Bundschu. Guests are encouraged to come as their favorite Vegas icon, from the “Rat Pack” all the way to Wayne Newton and even Siegfried and Roy. Let’s try to not all be Elvis. The fun kicks off at 8 p.m. and for tickets and more info, point your browser to gunbun.com/syb.
