Piano Club to perform songs of Halloween

The Jack London Piano Club ushers in the fall season presenting its eighth concert to benefit Jack London State Historic Park with a special Halloween inspired recital on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Sonoma Valley has few events more charming than the Glen Ellen Village Fair. Setting aside the glitz of Wine Country, this down-home event brings a day of free fun on Sunday, Oct. 13, from noon to 5 p.m.

Cocktail contest to name ‘Best Bartender’ on Saturday

Now in its seventh year, the Sonoma Bar Battle returns this Saturday, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building. Sonoma’s cocktail connoisseurs will face off for the title of “Sonoma’s Best Bartender,” all for the benefit of the Native Sons of the Golden West, Parlor #111 and the American Legion, Jack London Post #489.

Kathleen Hill to host live cooking demonstrations at museum

As part of the “Kitchen Memories” exhibition at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, Kathleen Hill will host a live cooking demonstration showcasing how some of the antique culinary tools were utilized. The event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m.

Witchie Poo returns for two weekends

The pumpkin patches are open for business, which means it’s time for Sonoma’s annual Halloween showcase. Now in its 33rd year, the Witchie Poo Players take to the stage with “Witchie Poo Halloween Extravaganza: Around-the-World Hot Air Balloon Race,” which can be seen Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27, at 2 p.m. at the Sebastiani Theatre.

Octoberfest for Teen Services Oct. 13

The fall fundraiser for Sonoma Valley Teen Services will be held Sunday, Oct. 13, from noon until 4 p.m. at the Carneros Brewing Company, where the theme will be “Octoberfest Bier Garten and Marketplatz.”
