Caltrans to close Hwy. 37 for two weekends

Highway 37 between Highway 121 in Sonoma County and Highway 29 in Solano County will be closed for the next two weekends.

Caltrans will be performing major maintenance and paving on Highway 37 and will close the road starting at 10 a.m. tonight, Friday, Sept. 19, and will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22. The road will also be closed the following weekend, from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept 29.

Also scheduled are five weekday nights of work from Monday, Sept. 29, until Friday, Oct. 3, from 10 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning. All work is weather permitting.

Detour signs will be posted.

Westbound motorists will be detoured to northbound Highway 29, then to southbound Highway 121 and back to Highway 37. Eastbound motorists will use northbound Highway 121 to Highway 29, then south on Highway 29.

From San Francisco and Marin counties, motorists heading to Sonoma County are advised to use northbound U.S. 101 to eastbound Highway 116 when closures are in effect.

Motorists should allow for extra travel time.
