The 194th Sonoma Valley grape harvest will officially kick off at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 15. The Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance will mark the day by holding an official bell ringing ceremony at the Mission San Francisco Solano beginning at 11:45 a.m. When the bell rings, everyone in Sonoma Valley is invited to join in the action by ringing their bell and honking their horns as well.

Congressman Mike Thompson has arranged for a flag flown over the nation's capital to be presented to this year's honorary Bell Ringer Angelo Sangiacomo of Sangiacomo Family Vineyards. The Sangiacomo family is harvesting the first winegrapes of 2018 Wednesday morning.
