Las Palmas Ranch opening soon: The owners of the new Las Palmas Ranch hope to open next weekend, They have been fixing up the spot at 18976 Sonoma Highway that formerly housed Mission Viejo and most recently Taqueria y Torteria Timilpan.

Building inspector news: The City of Sonoma Building Department is looking to hire a new building inspector but, until then, it is shortening the hours that inspections can take place. Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 14, and continuing until further notice, no Wednesday afternoon inspections and no Friday inspections will be scheduled. It is anticipated that normal daily building inspection availability will be resumed by June. To apply for the open inspector position, visit sonomacity.org/job/building-inspector/ before 5 p.m. on Feb. 20.

Hotel sale: Four Sisters Inns, a Monterey-based boutique hotel group with seven Wine Country properties, four of them in the Sonoma Valley, has been acquired by an in-house executive team. The new team of owners is led by Tamara Mims, now the president of Four Sisters, and Joni Costa, its CFO. The group’s operations include Gaige House in Glen Ellen; Kenwood Inn and Spa in Kenwood; the Inn at Sonoma; Healdsburg Inn on the plaza in Healdsburg; Milliken Creek Inn and Spa in Napa; and Maison Fleurie and Lavender in Yountville.

League expansion: The Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs has announced its 2018 schedule and the expansion of the league to include the Napa Silverados and Martinez Clippers. There will be a new two-game series format. The season begins on May 31 and the regular season runs through Aug. 31. The league tryout camp and draft will be held on April 21 at Albert Park in San Rafael.

Carwash for sale: The property on which Sonoma Car Wash and Oil Changers sits at 19295 Sonoma Highway is for sale for $2,695,000. The lot size if .41 acres, the building is 4,410 square feet. The agent is Ryan Wilmer of Marcus & Millchap.

For sale: The Broadway Square complex – 24,285 square feet on 1.75 acres – is for sale for $6.9 million. The four-building complex is located 1.5 blocks from the Plaza, on First St. West, Maple and Broadway. David Losk of North Bay Property Advisors is the agent.

Barn for sale: The large barn on 1.17 acres hidden behind the General’s Daughter on West Spain is still for sale and the price has been lowered to $4 million. The listing agent is Tina Shone of Sotherby’s. The property was once part of Gen. Vallejo’s ranchero.

Hiring: Valley Vibes Orchestra (ViVO) is hiring a part-time pre-orchestra teacher for afternoons at $30 to $50/hour. ViVO is a youth program.

For lease: The Sonoma Wine Hardware space of 1,767 square feet is up for lease at 538 Broadway. The space is a grandfathered tasting room. Ryan Snow of W Real Estate is the leasing agent.
