Blessing the animals

Oct. 4 was the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. The day is usually celebrated with a blessing of the animals, and that was the case at St. Francis Solano School. The Rev. Mike Kelly blesses a caged snake. One student brought a pet rat. And even a tiny hamster received a blessing.
