Bears snare Sonoma Little League Majors regular season title

With Sonoma Little League's third season after merging the Valley's two former Little League associations coming to an end last week, the Bears reign as the 2014 Majors Division regular-season champions.

The Bears finished atop the Majors standings with an 18-3 regular-season record, followed in order by the Falcons? (14-8), Red Sox (13-8), Tigers  (12-9), Cardinals (12-9), Mustangs  (8-14), Angels (5-16) and Blue Jays (3-18).

Comprising the SLL Majors Division regular-season champion Bears – directed by manager Curt Dunkle and assistant ?coaches Jamie Natuzzi, Pete Smith and Mike Verdu – are Dax Adams, Nolan Dunkle, Dominic Fiorito, Joey Fiorito, Giovani Hernandez, Reed Hewitt, Kyle Hoffman, Gianni Natuzzi, Will Natuzzi, Gage Rowland, Coop Verdu and Nick Zeiter.

Claiming their second straight Sonoma Little League AAA Minors Division regular-season title were the Indians, followed in the final standings by the Orioles, Astros, Rangers, Royals, Mariners, Yankees and A’s.

The SLL AAA regular-season champion Indians – directed by manager Jim Vides and assistant coaches Johnny Armitage, Scott Anderson and Justin Silloway – consist of Ian Anderson, Alex Anguiano, Brett Armitage, Justin Crook, ?Joshua Hernandez, Zane Magnani, Mitchell McMahon, Rickey Rosser, Joshua Silloway, Jaden Vides, Kahlil Villas-Martinis and Heraclio Zamora-Alvarado.

Currently, Sonoma Little League is holding Valley postseason tournaments for both the Majors and AAA Minors, with all teams in both divisions competing at Hughes, Paul's and Teeter fields, and for team matchups and game times, or more details about SLL, visit sonomalittleleague.com.
