Barbara Bruckner – April 23, 1942 - August 17, 2014

Former resident of Sonoma.

Barbara, affectionately known as Baerbel, died at age 72 in Arenal, Costa Rica, where she and Hagen, her husband of 50 years, were living for the past seven years.

Barbara was born in Berlin, Germany in 1942, immigrated from Germany to the United States in 1964 and married her beloved Hagen in December of 1964.

They lived in Woodacre, Marin County until moving to Sonoma in 1972, where they raised their two sons Marcel and Ingmar. Barbara was involved in Cub Scouts as a den mother for many years.

She was an adventurous soul who enjoyed traveling and combined that love with a career as a travel agent. She was a great cook and a fantastic hostess who enjoyed the festivities of any holiday and loved spending time in her very colorful gardens.

Barbara had endless energy and love for her family, friends, dog Tibisan and cat Miz Miz.

Barbara is survived by her husband Hagen, son Marcel of Middletown, her sisters Brigitte and Margrit of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her son Ingmar and her sister Gisela.
