Sonoma Valley High School's 2009-10 winter sports preseason workouts for wrestling and boys' and girls' basketball begins this Monday, Nov. 9, in Pfeiffer Gym and the wrestling room. Students who want to participate in Sonoma's winter sports programs need to have all their paperwork and mandatory current physical examinations completed before the official opening of preseason practices for that sport. Fees can be paid and forms turned in at the SVHS student activities office Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Camp for a Cure tomorrow
The sixth annual baseball "Camp for a Cure" - directed by high school and college coaches, and as pro scouts and players, including the Valley's Tommy Everidge - for players ages 8 to 15, will take place at Casa Grande High School in Petaluma tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 7. All the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society, the Lupus Foundation of America and the American Diabetes Association. Shuttle to Sunday's 49ers game

Sonoma Bocce spring league sign-ups Sonoma Bocce Ball Association - formed earlier this year and now numbering 104 members - is currently holding its late-fall league at the new bocce courts south of the gazebo in Depot Park, and is registering players for the spring league. Sea Dragons fall program underway
Sonoma Sea Dragons youth swim team - under the direction of coaches Jane Hansen, Lisa Ran and Vallerie Cohn - recently started its fall swim program for boys and girls ages 5 to 14, and it continues from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through Nov. 23, at the Agua Caliente Aquatics Center, 17350 Vailetti Dr, Sonoma. Children must be able to swim freestyle with side breathing, backstroke, breast stroke and some butterfly. Cost is $250 a child for the fall season, $200 for the second child in a family and $150 for the third child.
