Video-shooting duck chasers busted

Appropriating the phone the officer quickly reviewed the conveniently recorded evidence and used the incriminating footage to cite the offending youngster for a misdemeanor violation of the city ordinance prohibiting the act of molesting wildlife. The phone was confiscated for evidence and the 15-year-old offender and Windsor resident was released to the custody of his father.
In other incidents reported to local law enforcement: Saturday, June 28:
12:35 p.m. - A deputy on patrol was flagged down by a person in the 18600 block of Sonoma Highway and told that some gang members had threatened him while he was in the Fiesta Plaza. While the deputy was talking to the two suspects, two brothers of the victim showed up at the scene. One of the victim's brothers challenged one of the suspects to a fight. The deputy, who found himself in the middle, called for backup. The deputy arrested the 24-year-old miscreant and charged him with challenging to fight in a public place.
Sunday, June 29: 2:30 a.m. - A wife who suspected her estranged husband was cheating on her despite their efforts to reconcile, drove to Infineon Raceway where the husband's big rig was parked. She located the big rig, opened the door and found her 46-year-old husband in the sack with his 22-year-old girlfriend. A few things went flying and he received a knee to the groin. A report was sent to the district attorney.
Monday, June 30:
1:24 p.m. - Police were called to the Big O tire store on Sonoma Highway after a silver Toyota Camry pulled into the parking lot with not one, but two flat tires and a potential customer staggered out and stumbled into the showroom. It wasn't clear how the car's tires were flattened but it was clear that the 52-year-old driver was more than slightly intoxicated. When officers administered a breath test to the man it registered a blood alcohol level of .33, more than four times the legal limit. The man was charged with DUI and booked into the county jail.
Wednesday, July 2:
8 p.m. - Deputies were sent to a home in the 100 block of Buena Vida Court for reported drug dealing. The deputies knocked on the door and when the resident opened the door, the deputies smelled the unmistakable scent of marijuana. The deputies also found 15 pot plants in the back yard, but the resident had a medical marijuana card and the number of plants and the amount of marijuana was within the medical marijuana guidelines.
Thursday, July 3:
2:30 a.m. - Deputies responded to a burglar alarm at a convenience store in the 15100 block of Arnold Drive. The front door glass was broken and some of the goods appeared to be rifled through, but there was apparently nothing missing.
9:48 a.m. - A home under construction in the 2700 block of Knob Hill Road was burglarized for the second time in five nights. On June 27, someone stole a dozen copper downspouts worth an estimated $8,000. Sometime the night of July 2, someone stole some power tools, two 50-pound bags of grass seed and two 5-gallon drums of diesel fuel. Deputies found a barbed-wire fence in the back of the property had been cut.
9:19 p.m. - A resident in the 100 block of Orchard Avenue reported that she and her husband were in another room watching TV when they heard a loud crash. They walked into the living room to find that somebody had thrown a brick through their front window. Since they haven't had any problems in the past, deputies decided it was a random act of vandalism. The damage estimate was $400.
11:36 p.m. - A woman called the sheriff's department after someone approached her at the 7-Eleven on Railroad Avenue and asked her if she wanted to buy any crystal methamphetamine. Deputies located the man in front of the store and determined that he was indeed under the influence of a controlled substance. The 25-year-old Boyes Hot Springs man said he thought the woman was someone he had smoked meth with previously. He apologized for his mistake, but he still ended up in jail charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Friday, July 4:
Deputies responded to 15 reports of fireworks, but discovered at least a dozen others while on patrol.
Saturday, July 5:
8:33 a.m. - A resident in the 17900 block of Greger Street reported that sometime around 10 p.m. the previous evening, someone threw a rock through the back window of their car.
10:28 a.m. - A resident in the 100 block of Madrid Way reported that sometime overnight, their house got toilet-papered and egged. The eggs caused an estimated $150 damage to some patio furniture.
10:30 p.m. - Deputies were sent to the 500 block of Siesta Way for the report of an intoxicated male walking in the street shouting at no one in particular. The sot told deputies he was having problems with kids. The deputies decided the 27-year-old transient was too intoxicated to take care of himself so they arrested him in charges of public intoxication and a probation violation which forbids him to imbibe.
Sunday, July 6:
1:30 a.m. - Deputies were called to another burglary alarm for the second time in three nights at a convenience store in the 15100 block of Arnold Drive. This time, the cigarettes were in disarray and the thief or thieves absconded with some Marlboro Reds.
1 p.m. - A motorist reported that while driving home at around 11:10 p.m. on July 4, they heard some explosions and flashing lights while driving through the intersection of Arnold Drive and Center Street and later discovered explosive marks on the hood and sunroof. Someone had apparently thrown firecrackers on the hood and top. Damage was estimated at $400.
Tuesday, July 8:
8:06 a.m. - A business in the 100 block of Boyes Boulevard reported that someone threw a rock through the front window sometime between July 4 and July 6.
