The workshop will be held at Redwood Credit Union, 3033 Cleveland Ave., Suite 100, in Santa Rosa. The goal is to help and inform homeowners facing foreclosure. "This workshop is designed to give homeowners as much information as possible to help them deal with this difficult situation," Passalacqua said.
Other panelists will include individuals from the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, California Rural Legal Assistance, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, ACORN Housing, Washington Mutual, and the Santa Rosa Association of Realtors. The informational panel will address topics regarding tenants' rights, avoiding scams, preparing for short sales, and how to work with lenders and housing counseling agencies. There will be an opportunity for individual counseling sessions in Spanish and English on a first-come, first-served basis.
Informational exhibits will be present and take-away materials will be available. There will also be activities for children.
Attendees are advised to bring their financial information with them if they are seeking individual counseling. Individuals can pre-register for the workshop at www.fhlbsf.com.
