10.24.06 - It took 13 months or, in case you were counting, 397 days, but the new bridge over Sonoma Creek at Riverside Drive is finally open and it has a new name.

In dedication ceremonies held Friday morning with a host of local dignitaries, area residents, curious onlookers and expectant drivers, the spiffy new span was officially renamed the Ig Vella Bridge, in honor of local civic leader, veteran politician, and prize-winning cheesemaker Ig Vella.
