10.01.04 - Kristen Sparrow, M.D., has been selected to present her most recent acupuncture research project at the Society of Acupuncture Research annual meeting.

Sparrow has been practicing medical acupuncture in Sonoma since 1998. Her most recent project is an exploration of heart-rate variability as a function of outcomes in individual patients. Sparrow has her board certification in anesthesiology and pediatrics and practiced anesthesiology in San Francisco for a decade before becoming captivated by acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. She focuses on the role of the central nervous system and the body's stress response, and how it applies to acupuncture therapy, health, disease and the aging process. Sparrow treats a wide variety of conditions in her practice, and is a consulting specialist with the Valley of the Moon Medical Group.
