Vehicle fire stops traffic on Broadway

A vehicle fire along Broadway in the City of Sonoma Wednesday afternoon halted traffic in both directions for approximately 20 minutes before local fire teams snuffed out the flames.|

A vehicle fire along Broadway in the City of Sonoma Wednesday afternoon halted traffic in both directions for approximately 20 minutes before local fire teams snuffed out the flames.

The Eldridge Fire Department and the Sonoma Police Department both responded to the incident.

Chief of the Sonoma Fire Department Steve Akre said the engine compartment of the truck caught fire, but firefighters extinguished it quickly.
