A 62-year-old man lost his life early Wednesday morning, July 22, when the truck and trailer he was driving went off the roadway for unknown reasons, crossing several properties before coming to rest, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place at 5:15 a.m. on Napa Road eastbound at Burndale Road, in clear weather just before dawn.

According to the CHP report, the man was driving a 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup, towing a recent-model luxury fifth-wheel trailer.

“There is possibility this collision was caused by a medical condition,” said Lt. Marc Rensperger of the Napa Area CHP. “We won’t know for certain until an autopsy is performed.”

Patrick Jauron, 62, of Sonoma, was pronounced dead at the scene, of causes still under investigation by the Sonoma County Coroner’s office. There were no passengers or anyone else involved in the single-vehicle accident.
