Art walk to aid La Luz

By

Learn about one of Sonoma’s most unique art offerings while lending support to La Luz Center this Sunday, Oct. 13.

Brigitte Micmacker, owner and curator of A New Leaf Gallery/Sculpturesite, will give a guided tour of sculptureWALK, an outdoor exhibit of more than 70 diverse sculptures at CornerStone Sonoma at 2 p.m.

Participants will be introduced to three-dimensional art displayed on the gallery’s patios, the adjacent olive grove and throughout the grounds of the avant-garde garden. Micmacker will speak about the artists’ lives and inspirations, the techniques used in the works, maintenance and lighting tips for outdoor sculptures and more.

Participants are encouraged to bring photos of their own space for a free personal consultation after the tour (first come, first serve).

The sculptures on view range from garden-sized to monumental, and are fabricated in bronze, stainless steel, weathering steel, ceramic and other outdoor-resistant materials. Mesmerizing wind-activated kinetic sculptures and unique fountains are also on display. All works are for sale.

The cost to attend is $10 a person, and reservations are required by calling 933-1300 or visiting sculpturesite.com. All proceeds will go to La Luz Center, a local nonprofit organization focused on providing health and educational resources to Sonoma Valley families in need. A representative will be on site to answer any questions about its programs.

CornerStone Sonoma is located at 23588 Arnold Drive.
