Almost finished

Last year, Julie Calhoun broke her sewing machine making a dress from used bicycle inner tubes for the Sonoma Community Center’s “Trashion Fashion” show. This year, it took her two weeks to make a dress from her children’s homework and the first draft plans from her home’s remodel. Calhoun will model the dress herself at this year’s “Trashion Fashion” event, which will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Sonoma Valley Veterans Memorial Building, 126 First St. W.
