All-league for 9 Dragon gridders

Baron, Carusso, Dunevent, Gustafson Welch earn SCL 1st-team|

After wrapping up the recent Sonoma County League season on a winning note to finish with a 2-4 record, nine Sonoma Valley High School’s varsity football boys earned all-league, with five first-team choices.

The Dragons named to the SCL all-league first-team were senior wide receiver Kyle Dunevent, and senior linemen Noe Baron and Vince Carusso for offense, and senior linebacker Alex Gustafson and senior defensive end Trevor Welch for defense.

Garnering SCL all-league second-team honors for Sonoma were senior running back Tristan Mertens for offense, senior strong safety Jacob Little and senior outside linebacker Seth August for defense, and Baron as a kicker/punter.

Dragon junior wide receiver and quarterback Max Yankovich received SCL all-league honorable mention.

Seven of the nine Dragons honored were repeat SCL all-leaguers, including Baron, Carusso, Dunevent, Gustafson, Little, Mertens and Welch.
