Adele Harrison promotes 138 8th-graders

Adele Harrison Middle School promoted 138 eighth-graders in ceremonies Thursday, June 5.

The school also handed out numerous awards during ceremonies on May 29.

Department awards went to Emily Curiel and Dylan Samaniego in science; Olivia Godwin and Will Larson in social studies; Hannah Chun and Bernardo Moya in English language arts; Helena Goodman-Chavez and Aron Corona in math; and Emma Maggioncalda and Juan C. Hernandez in physical education.

Sydney VonGober and Miles Schneider received the Sportsmanship Award; Maya Ibitz and Aron Corona were named Students of the Year and Alyssa Schimm and Dominic Tommasi received the Adele Harrison All-Around Excellence Award.

Eleanor Bon and Dominic Tommasi received the Community Service Award; Francesca Pharo and Dominic Chiotti received the Daughters of the American Revolution Patriotism Award.

Argelia Feore and Gustavo Manriquez received the Fine Arts Award; Andrea Solis-Perez and Mario Coronado received the Music Award; Elizabeth Portelli and Kole Morgan received the Soroptimist Most Improved Award while Jacqueline Gonzalez-Reyes and Dominic Tommasi received the La Luz Award.

The Builder’s Club Award was won by Brooke Zellers; Sujey Gonzalez and Alex Castaneda received the AVID Excellence Award; Sujey Gonzalez received the Safe School Ambassador Award; Nathalia Zavala and Juan Martinez were winners of the Dual Immersion Award and the Multi-Age Program Award was received by Emma Maggioncalda and Mario Coronado.

Student Body Officer Awards went to President Alyssa Schimm, Vice President Will Larson, Secretary Francesca Pharo and Treasurer Wyatt Larson. Kayla Minehan was the eighth-grade representative.

Live Skills Awards went to Dylan Samaniego, Alejandro Torres, Elsie Stewert and Kimmy Reyes in the first trimester; Kayla Minehan, Dominic Tommasi, Aron Corona and Emily curiel in the second trimester; and Jesse Molina, Kelsey Evans, Juan Martinez and Helena Goodman-Chaves in the third trimester.

Aron Corona received the Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average in the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grades.

The Presidential Award for maintaining a 3.5 GPA in eight of nine semesters went to Emma Bartolome, Hannah Chun, Emily Curier, Olivia Godwin, Juliet Gude, Quinn Jensen, Sarah Kiser, Emma Lorenzen, Emma Maggioncalda, Kayla Minehan, Abby parr, Francesca Pharo, Alyssa Schimm, Emma Snyder, Dominic Tommasi, Kira Vicars and Sydney VonGrober.

Alyssa Schimm and Timmy O’Sullivan won the Academic Excellence and Presidential Award.
