Vintage House Senior Center Elects New Board Members
Vintage House Senior Center announced this week the election of five directors including incumbent Randy Derwingson, and three new board members Art Fichtenberg, Liz Kane, Jack Nisson, and Bill O'Neal at its January 23 meeting.
Derwingson is a retired information technology professional who, after retiring from Pacific Bell, worked as an independent consultant and with KPMG Consulting. In addition to his board involvement with Vintage House Randy has also been an active volunteer with the Kiwanis, La Luz, Sonoma Community Center, Sonoma Valley Fund, Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, and Willmar Center.
Fichtenberg owned a full service real estate brokerage office in Sonoma and developed numerous local commercial and residential properties. He established and continues to operate Fichtenberg Vineyards Winery. He has been active in Rotary, Sonoma Community Center, Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce, Sonoma Valley Leadership Program, Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Alliance, Springs Redevelopment Advisory Council, and Valley of the Moon Teen Center.
Kane is a retired educator who brings her passion for quality educational programs to Sonoma Valley as she represents Vintage House on the curriculum committee of SSU’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. She is actively involved with the Sonoma-Petaluma State Historical Park Association and the Sonoma Valley Rotary Club, through which she is involved with a number of local projects.
Nisson is a retired real estate appraiser and a volunteer with a wide variety of local nonprofits including Boys and Girls Club, Hospice, Kiwanis, Sonoma Ecology Center, Sonoma League for Historic Preservation, Sonoma Mountain Preservation, and Sonoma Overlook Trail. As the chair of the new Vintage House Osher Lifelong Learning Institute committee, he is heading up efforts to create a sustainable future for this relatively new-to-Sonoma program from SSU.
O’Neal is a former Bendix Corporation and US Air Force operations analyst and strategic thinker and planner who helped build branding for Duracell, Bayer, Lipton, Litton, Philips, 3M, Textron and Toyota. As founder and president of O’Neal Strategy Group, Bill brings his extensive marketing knowledge to Vintage House where he is heading up the work of a new marketing committee.
