Seven Sonoma women receive prestigious Girl Scout USA Awards

Seven outstanding women from Sonoma were recently recognized for their service to local Girl Scouts during the 2010-2011 Scouting year.
Tali Mallory, leader of Ambassador Troop 10020 was awarded the Girl Scout National Award Appreciation pin. Lisa Ziganti, leader of Brownie and Junior Troop 10223, was named "Outstanding Leader of the Year, and Darcy McNairy, proud leader of Junior Troop 10141, was honored as "Outstanding Volunteer of the Year."
Also recognized with national awards for years in scouting were: June Sabel, 70 Years: Dianne Rank, 55 years; Jill Valavanis, 40 years; and DeDe Rank, 30 year s.
"Sonoma Valley Girl Scouting is growing rapidly because of the amazing dedication and support of these women and all of our volunteers. Local Girl Scouts appreciate all that they do to support the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
