Bancroft's Flowers and Gifts for sale

A Sonoma tradition that dates back to 1923, Bancroft's Flowers and Gifts, 711 Broadway, is for sale (or will close), says owner Jenise Kneeland, who said that after 25 years in the florist business, she is ready for a career change.

"Part of the reason for the change is health related.  I have foot and ankle stress that is great aggravated by being on my feet all day," Kneeland said. 

She is offering the Broadway base (including her current lease) along with all of the store fixtures, to someone who wants a "turnkey operation" with a solid customer base and Sonoma tradition.

In the meantime, she said that she will be selling off her inventory of gift items, vases, cards and the like, and the store would cease operation.  Call her at 996-2902 for more information.

The location at the corner of Andrieux Street and Broadway is shared with Hot Shots coffee, owned by Dave Mock, who also holds the main lease and subleases the florist shop to Bancroft's.  He is currently doing some renovation of the location.
