Activities for girlfriends all month

 

March is a month for the ladies. The Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau is in the midst of the month-long Girlfriends Getaway promotion, dedicated to helping girlfriend relax, reconnect and enjoy what Sonoma Valley has to offer. 

Girlfriends in Sonoma will have the opportunity to enjoy $5 signature margaritas at La Casa Restaurant and Bar; private after-hours chocolate tasting (with wine) and chocolate making classes at Wine Country Chocolates; and free access to sustainable fashion from Sweden with "Eco Chic" at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art (mention girlfriends getaway). 

A few Girlfriends Getaway events planned this month include:

• Television film critic and hat aficionado Jan Wahl will celebrate the ladies in her life at My Girlfriend's Closet on Saturday, March 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. The first 20 ladies at the party to consign hats will receive a handcrafted soap. She then plans to check out "Eco Chic" at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art before heading to EDK for dinner.

• El Dorado Corner Café, in conjunction with Thirsty Girls, will be hosting a wine on tap educational seminar led by wine expert Leslie Sbrocco on Thursday, March 31, 6 to 8 p.m. Sbrocco will discuss the importance and future of this evolving trend while guests sample the featured wines alongside farm-driven fare from Executive Chef Justin Everett.

• Meet the Mayo Girls at Mayo Family Winery on Fridays until 6:30 p.m. Come and meet Meredith and Courtney Mayo every Friday in March and enjoy two-for-one wine tasting of sparkling wine, chardonnay, pinot noir, barbera and zinfandels. Tasting room is open until 6:30 p.m.

Stop by the Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau to receive a complimentary Girlfriend's Gift Bag. Visitor centers are located at 453 First St. E. on the Plaza and at 23570 Arnold Drive at Cornerstone Sonoma on Highway 121.
