The roots of the word can be traced back to ancient Latin and medieval French.
The feelings behind the word go all the way back to a guy named Adam and a girl named Eve who ate an apple together naked.
And here we are, in Wine Country, not necessarily naked, but stripped emotionally bare sometimes by the beauty, the weather, the people, the food and the wine.
If that’s not romance it’ll have to do until the real thing comes along.
And speaking of naked, there may not be a place on the planet with more spas, more massage tables, more facials, more ways to baby the body, heart and soul than the Valley of the Moon.
So our exploration of Wine Country romance led us, necessarily to the nearest spas—four of them to be precise—where wonderful things began to happen.
