Its nice to see all these restaurants listed conveniently but doesn't anybody eat at home anymore besides us? we try to keep the old tradition of sunday dinner at 4 p.m. with friends and families attending but more and more it seems outside dining is taking over with impersonal camaraderie being the new venue. And no matter how nice the restaurant is, people are still playing with i pads, i phones and tablets at the table.
I always find these lists a little odd. For whom are they written? There's such a mix of styles and target markets that it renders the list next to useless. Fine, the top end is represented but the write-ups for the non top end restaurants is so gushing that you can't distinguish. Likewise, for the low-end, why is Black Bear Diner, for example, included when Happy Dog, for example, is not. Is it only because if Happy Dog were included, then you would have to include McDonalds? Also, the tourist traps have been lumped in with locals' favorites.
To make the list useful, it should include an attempt at categorising by style or price point or target market.
