Walnut Pie

Ingredients:

One unbaked 9 inch pie shell
2 eggs, separated
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 t. vanilla
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 T. flour
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/8 t. salt
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Preparation - Directions:

Beat egg whites until stiff, set aside. Beat egg yolks until light, add brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla and corn syrup. Beat until smooth. Mix together flour, cinnamon, salt and add to mixture, beating until smooth. Stir in 3/4 cup walnuts. Gently stir in egg whites. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Top with remaining 3/4 cup walnuts. Bake at 350° 50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
