Pear Wine Bread

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup white wine
1 egg
1 cup chopped fresh pears (or well drained canned pears)
2 T. sugar
1/8 t. cinnamon

Preparation - Directions:

Combine flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, soda, salt and 1/2 t. cinnamon with pastry blender. Cut in butter. Beat wine and egg together. Stir into flour mixture, just to blend. Fold in pears. Spoon batter into greased 8 inch by 8 inch pan. Mix 2 tablespoons sugar with 1/8 tablespoon cinnamon. Sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° about 35 minutes. Serve hot.
