Mark’s Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

2 cups white flour
2 cups sugar
2 sticks butter
4 T. cocoa
1 cup water
1 cup buttermilk
2 beaten eggs
1 t. baking soda
1 t. vanilla

Preparation - Directions:

In a 9 inch by 13 inch pan, sift flour and sugar. Simmer, in a saucepan butter, cocoa and water; pour over flour and sugar in pan. Stir well. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, vanilla. Mix well. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
FROSTING:
1 stick butter
4 T. cocoa
6 T. milk
1 16-oz. Box powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
Simmer butter, cocoa and milk in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, beat well. Pour on cake while frosting is still warm. Sprinkle walnuts on top of cake.
