Marbled Brownies

Ingredients:

Cream Cheese Layer
1-8 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 t. vanilla
Brownies:
1 16 oz. pkg. brownie mix
Chocolate Sour Cream Topping:
4 oz. semi sweet or milk chocolate
1/2 cup sour cream at room temperature

Preparation - Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°. Beat cream cheese until smooth; blend in sugar, egg and vanilla. Prepare cake version of brownie mix according to package directions. Spread half of the prepared brownie batter in buttered 9-inch square baking pan and pour cream cheese mixture over. Top with remaining brownie batter and swirl through cream cheese to create marbled effect. Bake 45 minutes. Cool on rack 2 hours.
Prepare Chocolate Sour Cream Topping: Melt chocolate over hot water or on very low heat. When melted, remove from heat and blend in sour cream. Spread over surface of cooled marbled brownies. When topping is set, cut in squares and serve. Makes 16.
