Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, salt and spices. Cream shortening, add sugar slowly and beat until fluffy. Stir in eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Stir in raisins and 3/4 cup walnut meats. Roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut into desired shapes. Bake on greased cookie sheet in hot oven (400°) about 12 minutes. Cool and top with confectioner’s sugar frosting. Sprinkle with remaining nut meats. Makes about 9 dozen 2-inch cookies.
