1-3/4 cup flour
1/4 t. salt
1/2 t. soda
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1/4 cup milk
18 large marshmallows, cut in half
1/2 box powdered sugar
1/2 t. vanilla
1/3 cup milk
3 T. soft butter or margarine
1/3 c. cocoa

Cookies: Cream sugar and shortening; add egg, vanilla and milk. Mix in dry ingredients. Roll into 36 balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Make a well with thumb in each cookie. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350°. Put marshmallow (cut side down) into cookie well and bake 3 more minutes. Frost (to cover marshmallows).
Frosting: Mix all together and frost cookies when they are cool.
