1 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 egg
1 egg yolk (reserve white)
dash salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1-1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
3/4 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup oil
1 egg white
1 T. vinegar
1 t. vanilla
3/4 cup toasted slivered almonds

Beat together cream cheese, egg, egg yolk and salt. Add chips to cream cheese mixture. Set aside. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, soda and salt.Combine water, oil, egg white, vinegar and vanilla. Beat well with fork. Add to dry ingredients. Stir well.
Line 12 muffin cups. Fill half full with chocolate mixture. In center of each, spoon a tablespoon of cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and almonds. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350°.
